The interplay between digitalisation and the green transition

This was the opening event of the 'Social policy unpacked: Exploring pathways for fair green and digital transitions'. Dr. Steffen Lange and Prof. Dr. Tilman Santarius shared their insights on how digitalisation and the green transition interrelate.

Their presentation of the ‘Digital Reset’ report insightfully established how the ‘twin’ digital/green transition is a two-sided sword with multiple potentials as well as threats. As yet, this emerging transition is not developing in a fair, sustainable direction – it needs to be redirected, a reset is needed. This critical framing of the ‘twin’ transition resonates with the approach taken to the empirical research (WP2) on transitions governance: What are the emerging ‘digitaltransition’ tools bringing us in terms of decarbonization and work transformations? What could they bring us?
